SURFING TOURS

Bali has over 20 top quality breaks on the west and east coasts of the island. Craig is an experienced surfer who has been surfing in Indonesia for over 13 years. Craig or one of his team will take you to the best breaks for the level of your ability in a luxury air-conditioned van. Knowing where the best surf spots on the island are before you get there, with all the local knowledge and research of the tides and swell for that day. They will explain each surf break, channels, tide changes, take off spots, line up location and give you the best local insight They can surf with you or can watch from the shore.

There are numerous surf shops with all types of rental boards, but if you ride high-performance short boards, we always recommend bringing your own. Craig is also a professional surf photographer who can take photos of you surfing so you can have something to take home to remember that perfect wave by.


BEGINNERS SURFING LESSONS

This introduction course covers all the necessary theory about the basics of surfing: safety, essentials, surf awareness, board characteristic, paddling, standing up and last but not least you practice in the water and catch your first small wave. All instructors are certified in advanced first aid resuscitation and are level one and two Australian surfing association standard.

Each lesson is 2 ½ hours long (May vary due to wave and tide conditions)

DAILY SURFING TOURS AROUND BALI

There are many surf spots that you will be able to surf on this trip and we will choose the spots by your surfing experience or your favourite style, Kuta reef, Airport lefts or rights and also middle reef, to name a few. You can surf at Canggu, Kuta beach, Legian or other alternative spots if the reefs are not handling.
Uluwatu is the most popular spot for the high performance surfer. If the swell is too big for Canguu and beach breaks the tour will also cover other famous surf spots such as Padang–Padang, Impossibles, Bingin, Dreamland, or Balangan.

Medewi is one of the longest easiest waves in Bali, it has a rock bottom and always good in the mornings before the wind comes up. The best size 3 – 5 ft.

Nusa Dua / Sanur is one of the best right handers in Bali. The trip will be really fun for natural footers. The best size 3 – 6 ft., full tide. If conditions are not good we will surf Serangan, or Krums.

LOMBOK / DESSERTS TOUR

DESERT POINT TOUR
Located on the South West Coast of Lombok, 3 hours drive from Kuta. On its day Desert Point is regarded as one of the best waves on the planet. Barrels of 20 seconds have been filmed there and 10 second tubes are common. Full or new moon low tides, a south east wind and a big swell are needed, most consistent from May to October. It can go weeks without waves, but just one Desert Point bomb will make the wait worth it. Experienced surfer only. Bring your booties an a good tube riding board.

G-LAND TOUR

G-Land is world renowned and recently voted third best surf destination in the world. The two mile long left hand reef is divided up into four main sections; Kong's, Money Tree's, Launch Pads, Speedies or 20/20's.

Kong's is the first break way up the point and very rarely drops below three feet (most of time is 12 feet and more), Kong's produces long workable walls, that yes can connect with the next section a couple of hundred yards down.

Money Three's is the most consistently surfed section of the reef. Famous for its fast workable walls and emerald green, almond shaped barrels. More protected by seasonal trades than Kong's. It’s sheer beauty runs down the reef for another couple of hundred yards before the real magic begins. (Surf board suggested is 6'8" - 7'0" Gun)

Launch Pads is the name given for the take off point leading into Speedies, which could lead you into one of your longest barrels ever. Famous for its long spinning barrels, Speedies is G-Land, and if you score it on its day, you'll understand why. (Surf board suggested is 6'8" - 7'2" Gun)

20/20's: The Left is an amazingly great quality wave. Always smaller than the main break, it can throw out forgiving barrels and fun playful walls than wind down the 100 m long reef, before filling up in the deep channel The Right: not as long as its sister facing directly opposite, and generally needing a bit more swell, on the right swell it will throw out perfect horse shoeing barrels.

Tiger Tracks: Empty Right Barrels. Picking up almost the same swell size as the main point and breaking over forgiving sponge reef, Tiger tracks can make your trip to G-Land one remember on its own, and is a very good learning wave.


G-Land Travel Tips

Transfer to G-Land

It takes more less 7 hours long to get to G-Land Surf Camp. Starting in late evening (before midnight), our minibus will pick you up from Bali bnb or from our G-Land Surf Camp HQ in benesari st. then 3 hours drive to gilimanuk and embarked into ferry to Ketapang port - Banyuwangi. Continue drive to Alas Purwo National Park arriving at sunrise time. Next is an hour drive thru beautiful panoramic Plengkung's jungle. Reaching G-Land Surf Camp in early morning for breakfast and get ready for the first round ride in G-Land.

Camp Surrounding & Travel Tips

The G-Land Surf Camp is located in a 55,000 HA of Natural Park. Been the biggest park in Indonesia. The Camp is exclusively situated on the edge of the jungle. Constructed on 5 hectares of land, deep inside the lowland tropical rainforest of the Alas Purwo National Park, the G-Land Surf Camp holds the premier location on the famous point of Plengkung (G-Land) with the only Tower to check the surf from on its door step. While having arguably one of the best waves in the world, G-Land also has a large variety of right and left hand reef breaks and miles of untouched white beaches suited to all levels of surfing. With a total land mass of 55,000 hectares the National Park is also home to a wide range of flora and fauna, Hindu temples, turtle breeding, sanctuary sand mediation and caves. G-Land Surf session is in Dry Time (from March - November). During these times there are a small amount of mosquitoes. We advise for all guests to follow these helpfully tips:

  • Take an anti malaria tablet such as Chloroquin, Rechsaquin or Doxylycline.
  • Use insect repellent
  • Always wearing a long shirt, trousers and mosquito nets to against mosquito bitten.

  • Reef booties for G-Land low tide
  • We suits, rash-vest, Garth helmet and some leg-ropes.

Surf Transfer: The G-land Surf Camp zodiac surf transfer is on standby daily, just ask the staff and captain will have you at your choice of breaks before you know it, our zodiac is as at guests disposal photo & video shots or just hanging out in the line up to get closer look of the day’s action.
Non surfing activities are: fishing, snorkelling, beach combing, jungle trekking, sun bathing. Rental gourds for fishing is available also.

Power Supply: G-Land Surf Camp is fitted with four generators, supplying 220 V of electricity 24 hours a day.
Others:
  • First Aid: G-Land Surf Camp carries a fully supply of general medical supplies. In case of serious injury, we has access to helicopter rescue, and is suggested to all surfer has own insurance.
  • Safe deposit boxes: highly advisable to keep all valuable things in safe place when the guest surfing.

SUMBAWA TOURS

There are 5 world class surfing waves situated in the same bay directly in front of the hotels. The peak swell period is from April to September. Late and early season October to March can offer perfect clean conditions with light winds.

Lakey Peak

Lakey Peak is a perfect A frame peak with left and right breaking waves the left being longer than the right. The best tide for the left is medium to low tide, no lower than a 0.7 on a 4-6 ft swell. It does break on the bigger swells but has to be a higher tide.
The right hander breaks on medium to high tide offering a short intense right hand barrel which has to be back doored from the left. Breaks through the lower tides only on small swells. This wave is one of the most consistent waves in Indonesia and offers surf for the beginner to the most experienced. Breaks through dry and rainy seasons.

Lakey pipe

Is across the channel on the left side of the peak a popular wave amongst the body boarders and surfers. Best at 3-4 ft on a medium to high tide. It can be surfed at low tide on a body board if you have the balls.

Cobblestones

Cobblestones is a super fun left and right reef breaks. Works well on small swells and only breaks at higher tides. The left hander the higher the tide the better the wave 2.2 – 2.6. The right hander only works from a 1.8 tide and up, a super fun mellow wave.

Nungas

The big left hander 5 minutes walk down the beach from Lakey peak, sections start to connect on the bigger swells offering rides of 200 meters or more. Nungas hold any size swell the ocean throws at it and breaks on all tides.

Periscopes:

This is a right hander 15 minutes walk down the beach from Leaky Peak it only breaks best from a 1. 8 tide and up. Can offer three barrel sections on one wave. Best on a 3- 5 foot swell, breaks on the bigger swells but closes out through the channel.
